When a file-size cap blocks an attachment or submission, check the recipient’s rule and leave a little room below it. A presentation that needs audible speech and a silent reference clip call for different checks.
After processing, compare the original, target and output sizes side by side. Check necessary text and audio in the saved MP4 before submitting, and retain the source for later edits.
For the same duration, a smaller target leaves fewer bits per second. If the result looks soft, increase the target or lower the resolution so each pixel receives more data.
For long videos or tight targets, 720p or 480p can preserve text and subject edges better than spreading the same bitrate across 1080p pixels.
The full video must be re-encoded, so this uses more CPU and memory than extracting audio. A desktop browser is recommended, and large files should be processed one at a time.
Not always. The tool calculates an average bitrate from duration and leaves room for MP4 overhead, but scene complexity and container data can make the final file slightly smaller or larger.
After reserving space for audio, the video still needs a minimum usable bitrate. Increase the target or lower the audio quality and maximum resolution.
Yes. Supported inputs are re-encoded as MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. A listed extension does not guarantee that every unusual or damaged internal codec can be decoded.

The target describes the completed MP4, not working memory. Reading, decoding and re-encoding need additional memory. Inputs below the 400MB ceiling may still fail; under 300MB is recommended on desktop. Try a lower maximum resolution, or prepare smaller source segments if failures persist.
