The range is set in 0.1-second steps and re-encoded. Actual scene boundaries still follow the source frame rate, so a time between frames resolves to the nearest available video frame.
File size depends on duration, source compression, motion, resolution, and the selected output quality. Re-encoding an already highly compressed source at High quality may produce a smaller-than-expected size reduction.
Trimming exports H.264 MP4 with AAC when audio is present. There is no stream-copy export preserving the source extension. Use a suitable editor when retaining the original container or a special codec is essential.
Yes. The video track is required, while audio is included only when present, so silent videos can also be trimmed.
Yes. A short output does not avoid loading the source into the engine. The 400MB ceiling is not a success guarantee; under 300MB is recommended even on desktop. For repeated failures, export a smaller source segment in the original editor or use a desktop with more free memory.
