Simpler, more private file tools
Toolit is a browser-based file tool service you can use without installing software or creating an account. It is designed to make everyday conversion, editing, and compression tasks quick and straightforward.

Toolit began while I was creating YouTube Shorts alongside my day job and wanted an easier way to handle repeated file conversions. I often needed to convert WAV audio to MP3, but found the workflows and interfaces of existing online converters cumbersome.
I decided to build the features I needed. Starting with audio conversion, Toolit expanded into PDF tasks I encountered at work and other conversion and editing tools. The focus is on clear screens and short workflows that first-time visitors can use without separate instructions, rather than simply following existing services.
Who runs Toolit?
Toolit is a personal project run by one person who handles planning, development, operations, and content creation.
Development and testing use AI coding tools and automation. These tools help with repetitive work, while the operator makes all decisions about which tools to build, what to improve, and what information to publish.
How does it work?
Most file operations run inside the browser on your device. Files you select are not uploaded to or stored on Toolit servers for processing.
Your browser may still connect to external services to load processing engines, interface assets, anonymous usage analytics, or advertising and affiliate content when enabled. Those requests are separate from the contents of your selected files. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How are tools and content verified?
New tools and major changes are checked with ordinary files and, where relevant, files near the stated limit and damaged or unsupported inputs. We verify that settings and results stay consistent during processing, navigation, cancellation, and retry.
Automated tools run repeated tests. Based on those results, the operator selects cases that need further review and directly inspects the output files.

Shareable test files and measurements are provided alongside the findings, with a distinction between what was checked and what was not.
Operating principles and limits
Publish tools only after they are complete and usable. Keep every tool free to use. Minimize personal data and clearly disclose enabled advertising and affiliate connections.
Chrome and Edge are checked first, with Firefox and Safari compatibility reviewed where practical.
Processing speed and usable file size depend on your device, available browser memory, and the file format. Limits are based on browser memory and observed processing stability, not server storage capacity. Mobile layouts and lower-memory devices receive honest size guidance where browser memory can become the limiting factor.
Encrypted, damaged, or unusual files may not process correctly. Review important results for content and quality before using them.
