Helpful answers before you start
What is the difference between HEIC and HEIF?
HEIF is the container format, while HEIC commonly refers to HEIF images compressed with HEVC. This tool accepts both extensions.
Can I convert multiple photos at once?
Yes. Select up to 30 images. They are processed one at a time and can be downloaded individually or in one ZIP.
Does location metadata remain?
No. The result is newly encoded, so EXIF location, device information, and other source metadata are not copied.
Does it convert the complete Live Photo?
No. It converts the primary still image only. The Live Photo video and depth data are not included.
Which JPG quality should I use?
The 90% default balances quality and size. Try 80–85% for strict upload limits or 90–95% when print and archive quality matter.
What does longest side mean?
It is the maximum pixel length of the wider or taller side. Keep the original resolution or reduce it, for example to 1920px, to create smaller files.
Can the converted JPG or PNG be larger than the HEIC?
Yes. HEIC is storage-efficient, so a PNG or high-quality JPG at the same dimensions can be larger. Adjust JPG quality and the longest-side limit when file size matters.
